The Delmonico Way; Sublime Entertaining & Legendary Recipes from the Restaurant that Made New York!

The Delmonico Way! - Bestselling & Award-winning Cookbook

The Delmonico Way; Sublime Entertaining & Legendary Recipes from the Restaurant that Made New York! By; Max Tucci

The Delmonico Way, Sublime Entertaining & Legendary Recipes from the Restaurant that Made New York, is more than a cookbook, it is a beautiful journey of fine fare, gracious hospitality, sublime entertaining, legendary recipes with beautiful stories of my family,  the Tucci family and our Delmonico’s. -1920s - 1980s

In my cookbook, I share with you the story of the three most powerful restaurateurs during their time and during Delmonico’s Golden era; my grandfather Oscar Tucci, my father Mario Tucci and my Aunt Mary Tucci. The trinity of Delmonico’s, of Oscar’s Delmonico.

The courageous and talented Delmonico brothers opened their first enterprise in 1827. The Delmonico family bravely operated Delmonico’s until it's closure in 1923 due to Prohibition. In 1926, Oscar Tucci, resurrected and re-established Delmonico’s. He single handedly save the icon citadel building at 56 Beaver Street from being demolished. And along with his wife, son, daughter and brother-in-law gave new life to the historic restaurant.

The Delmonico Way is a celebration of family, food, cocktails, friends, entertainment and self-worth.  Each page of the book brings Oscar’s way, The Delmonico Way into your home.

It is with great pleasure, that i share with you my family's tradition of hospitality, service, manors of entertainment and recipes that are know as "The Delmonico Way;" Our unique technique and tradition  formed during the Golden Era of Delmonico’s, The Tucci’s era.

Oscar was known for saying "All are welcome at my table." I echo him and raise a glass to you, with the beautiful toast of I see you, I hear you and you matter. Welcome to my table and my way of entertaining.

In the spirit of Oscar's Delmonico,

Max Tucci

Recipes

Imagine Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall walk through the legendary double doors of Delmonico’s. Their table awaits them - What will they order? Maybe a Seafood Tower or Oysters Rockefeller. Or maybe Ms. Bacall desires curry lamb and Mr. Bogart a classic Delmonico steak.

The Delmonico Way offers recipes from the past, present and future chefs of a unique industry. Delmonico’s was known for being America's First Fine Dining Restaurant. The recipes that I have created and have sourced from my friends in the industry are surly going to amuse your tatsebuds. Dishes that were created at Delmonico's and were popularized at the restaurant are included in The Delmonico Way.

I graciously invite you into the kitchen of the famous Delmonico’s, the restaurant I was fortunate to grow up in. I welcome you not only to the fanous kitchen but to my intimate table.

Cocktails

Imagine being transported back to the 1950s. Gypsy Rose Lee, Rock Hudson and Eva Gabor waltz into Delmonico’s. The bar is perfectly peppered with lingering business tycoons. Gypsy Rose Lee heads to the bar and asks for a Delmonico Cocktail, the bartender knowing exactly how the regular takes her drink, pours her the best Delmonico Gypsy has ever had.

In my book, I will share with you cocktails that were both created and made famous at my grandfather’s restaurant that many called "Oscar's Delmonico."
